Safe Haven Animal Hospital

Cannot recommend this organization enough! My dog needed a multi-day hospitalization with blood work and IV fluids, and Safe Haven took incredible care of her! Every staff member was kind, caring, and compassionate, and they communicated clearly what I could expect from the experience! They also saved me so much money on a vet bill at an already stressful time! Already recommended them to my family and friends, and I'll absolutely be coming back for future vet care needs. Thank you so much for nursing my girl back to health!

So incredibly impressed with Safe Haven Animal Clinic. We received a quote in excess of $3000 for just one night of overnight care at Sunset Animal Hospital for our sick kitten. We were referred to Safe Haven by a tech at Sunset as a low-cost resource for critical care. They took us in immediately, provided a quote that was literally 1/3 of the cost quoted by Sunset. This was a huge relief to us; if we had not been referred to Safe Haven, we would have had to part ways with our new kitten prematurely and gone the route of euthanasia. I am so thankful for Safe Haven. I will refer any and everybody to seek care here. Thank you so much for caring for our sick baby.

Safehaven has saved my dog many times, including parvo treatment when I first rescued her as a puppy. The staff is always helpful and honest. Another time my dog ate a bee and they advised me to bring her in since her face was swollen. They were more than helpful and Juno’s face and behavior was back to normal the same day. The staff is knowledgeable, kind and affordable so that we can give our pets the best life possible.

I recently adopted a rescue that came from a very bad situation. He suffered from entropion and desperately needed surgery. The foster had taken him to see a vet and got him started on antibiotics and steroids. I had seen people recommending Safe Haven and Dr. Amy Crum. I am so glad I found them. They have the lowest prices of a vet I have ever seen. Their hours a limited, they do walk ins most days of the week and Thursday & Friday are appointment only days. I showed up on a Sunday morning 8am and was the first person there. By the time they opened at 10am there was at least 10-15 people already in line. Originally, I believed that the first appointment would be to get this little guy checked out and have his surgery scheduled. To my surprise they quoted me the surgery price which was under $400 with medication and all AND they said they could do the surgery SAME DAY! I was so happy that this baby would finally be pain free! There was a miscommunication regarding an overnight stay. I was told that he may need to spend the night there if they didn’t get to his surgery and I had asked them to call me ahead of time because I wanted to pick him up if they didn’t get to him and bring him back the early the next day. They were able to do his surgery around 4:30pm (no one called me, I just received some consents and signed) then I received a call saying that the surgery was over and that he did good. However I explained that I was 30-40 minutes away. They weren’t going to be able to wait 10 extra minutes for me to arrive since it was late in the day and traffic wouldn’t allow me to get there before the time they wanted to go home so they said he could just stay the night and I could pick him up in the morning after 10am. I arrived and was told there was a $54 hospitalization fee which I was never told about whatsoever at any point and was not prepared to pay. I explained this to them and they said it was no pro that I could pay on his follow up or just whenever we came back. This was okay by me. Of course no one likes to be blindsided by extra charges BUT with how great they are and all of the services they provide at such low cost, I know the money is going to a good cause. These people are ANGELS, especially Dr. Amy Crum, she does SO much for the animals in our community and even has a program that offers free spay/neuter even for stray cats and dogs! So in NO way was I going to complain about this charge because I know they saved me thousands of dollars with this one surgery AND most importantly they saved this kitty from a lifetime of pain.
